In 2016,around 1.3million was lost from online shopping scams. Their has been around 4,600 reports of scams.
In 2017,around 1.4 million was lost from shopping scams from fake websites.Their has been more than 6,800 reports of scamming this year.
In 2018, a major increased occure. The amount stolen was rougly 3.3 million. The amount of scam reports doubled. The amount of scam reports were 9691 reports.
In 2019, As of september the amount that has been robbed is 3.8 million. The amount of reports were around 7000 reports.
A pattern in most of these years is that the main group of people that fell for the scams were ages 25-44. These were the people that got scammed for the most money and reported a lot more than other ages.
